Accessibility Statement
Last updated: January 2026
Halo Project Charity wants everyone to be able to use the Student Halo Hubs website, whatever their access needs. This statement sets out how accessible the site is, what we are doing about it, and how to tell us if something is not working for you.
Our commitment
We aim to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2. We design for keyboard use, adequate colour contrast, resizable text and clear structure, and we test the site as it changes.
How you can use this site
The following should work throughout the site.
- Navigate using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every link, button and form field.
- Zoom to 200 per cent, or increase text size, without content being lost or overlapping.
- Use a screen reader, with headings, landmarks, form labels and image descriptions in place.
- Read the site on a phone or tablet, with layouts that reflow to the width of the screen.
Known limitations
We are aware of some areas that fall short and are working on them: photographs added by Hub members may not always carry a description, and embedded video hosted by third parties may not have captions we control. Where a document is provided as a PDF, we will supply the content in another format on request.
Getting information in another format
If you need anything on this site in large print, plain text, audio, easy read or another language, contact us and we will provide it. We aim to respond within five working days.
Reporting a problem
If you find an accessibility barrier, please tell us what you were trying to do, which page you were on and what happened. Email info@haloproject.org.uk or call 01642 683 045. Your feedback goes to the team responsible for the site.
If you are not happy with our response
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010. If you are unhappy with how we have responded to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service at equalityadvisoryservice.com or on 0808 800 0082.
How this statement was prepared
This statement was prepared in January 2026. The site was assessed by its developers using automated testing tools together with manual keyboard and screen reader checks. It is reviewed whenever the site changes significantly, and at least once a year.
