The FMU operates a public helpline to provide advice and
support to victims of forced marriage as well as to
professionals dealing with cases. The assistance provided
ranges from safety advice, through to helping a forced
prevent their unwanted spouse moving to the
umstances the FMU will assist with rescues
of victims held against their will overseas.

The National FGM Centre is a partnership between Barnardo’s
and the Local Government Association (LGA). It was established
in 2015 to achieve a systems change in the provision of services
for children and their families who are affected by Female
Genital Mutilation (FGM)
